Our Founder’s Bio and the Origin of Argos

Sandra Balboa is the founder and CEO of ARGOS Unlimited Consulting. She is a seasoned Human Resources professional with over 25 years of experience in executive/HR leadership.

In 2008, Sandra entered the healthcare sector where she acquired a keen understanding of complex staffing operations, employee relations, regulatory compliance, and specialty workforce needs.

Sandra achieved a coveted professional milestone when she joined Ascension (one of the largest not-for-profit hospital systems in the United States) as a Vice President of Human Resources in 2022, overseeing the vast majority of Ascension’s nationwide hospital staff recruitment and onboarding operations. Prior to that, Sandra also served as Southwestern States Division Director of HR for Vibra Health and Ernest Healthcare, as well as nearly a decade as hospital-based Chief HR Officer in the Tenet-owned Hospitals of Providence in El Paso, Texas.

Despite her success in the uniquely competitive healthcare sector, Sandra yearned for the days when she felt most connected to her profession. This was earlier in her career, working in the Tech sector–helping start-up companies grow from the ground up. During this early era of her HR leadership career, Sandra thoroughly enjoyed the process of collaborating with business owners and operators to support their niche staffing strategies, while establishing impeccable HR systems and educating fellow leaders on HR best practices. In this context, Sandra helmed company-wide HR operations for multiple companies during periods of rapid growth and international expansion…which ultimately resulted in highly successful mergers and profitable acquisitions. It is from this exhilarating and rewarding experience working with start-ups that Sandra’s consulting firm concept for ARGOS Unlimited emerged.

A graduate of Connecticut State University, Sandra is also a proud U.S. Armed Forces veteran, a nature and travel enthusiast, and fluent in three languages (English, Spanish and Portuguese).
